West MLC Multi-loop Temperature Control
The West MLC Multi-loop Temperature Control provides excellent PID control of electric heaters, and can serve as the "back end" to a PLC based system. It is comprised of a communication module and up to 8 control modules. Communication module options currently include Modbus, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, CANopen, Ethernet/IP and Modbus/TCP. One system can handle up to 32 loops, and multiple MLC's can be networked together for more. Heater break inputs are available. The modules are hot-swappable, so a unit can be removed and replaced without stopping the machine. If the fieldbus network goes down, the MLC can be pre-programmed to inhibit the loops, or continue controlling on its own.
