Linear Web or Profile Measurement
We can help you measure the linear feet of your web or profile extrusion in several ways: An encoder wheel directly in contact with the material; an encoder mounted on a roller; or a sensor that monitors the movement of the web without touching it and transmits an output scaled to length.
Di-Soric Non-Contact Linear Measurement
The OBS 105 has the advantage of direct measurement of the material, without the potentially damaging drawback of direct contact with the material. The sensor is mounted 30mm above the material and transmits a velocity signal that can be scaled into a linear measurement. Call us or click on the Engineer Button to arrange a product demonstration.

Durant Encoder Wheel and Totalizer
The tried and true solution for measuring profile extrusions is the cube encoder with a wheel assembly, sending pulses to a totalizer, like this Durant President. It is simple to install, and the totalizer can be programmed for cut-to-length applications. Call us or hit the Engineer Button for a quote.

SICK Indirect Encoder Measurement
An encoder, like this Sick Stegmann programmable encoder, can be mounted on a roller to produce a length measurement. The drawback is that it is not actually monitoring the material itself, so there is potential for a false measurement when the web or profile breaks, or during the setup process. Call us or click on the Engineer Button to get help with your application.
